New pics of the twins...
We've had a lovely weekend. All five of us went to the park yesterday, where Louise insisted on riding the Big Girl Swing (until she fell off - shaken, but not hurt). Today we all went out for coffee and second breakfast/snack - something we all enjoy (Ali is nursing twins, Louise is a growing girl, and Guy is...hmmmm).
Guy has taken several pictures of the girls on the changing table. Charlotte (baby on the right) was screaming for food at the time, but photos are blissfully quiet!

Granny and Pop depart for the UK
Pop and Granny returned to the UK a few days ago, after spending nearly four weeks with us. They were a huge help with both the twins and feeding us!
We have deviated from the original 3 hour schedule and are now letting the twins sleep as much as they want during the night and feeding them when they wake up. The longest they have slept so far is 4 hours which is a great help to Alison. Louise is still happy being a big sister and generally is gentle around them!

Family photos
This was an exciting weekend for Louise. Granny & Pop returned from a relaxing (if rainy) time in Wilmington on Friday, and Katie, BJ, and Karen came for a visit on Sunday.
Although it was a rainy day on Sunday, Louise and Katie were able to have fun with the new bubble machine. They also had a good time making (and eating) muffins.
Karen kindly agreed to take some family pictures at the end of the visit. Katie made some important phone calls before going home.

Week 6 weighings

Twins now one day old!!
The twins official due date was today. So now we start the clock! Both go for a weighing tomorrow and we estimate Charlotte weighing in the low 7lb region and Claire in the upper 7lb region. We aim to update the site tomorrow with the official weights, but both are feeding well and visibly gaining weight.
Louise had a great weekend, spending some time at the museum of Life and Science in Durham. She enjoyed a train ride and playing in the sand. She had some new sunglasses, since she has managed to lose all her previous pairs (at least three sets) in just a day or two after buying them. These new ones have so far lasted two days, we will see how long they last!

Twins now awake more
Both Charlotte and Claire are doing well and are spending more time awake. They can be awake, staring into space, for up to an hour at a time before crying! They have also enjoyed spending time in the same crib which allows them to look towards each other.
Louise continues to do well with the twins, other than the occasional loud scream to wake them up! She is learning to be a gardener at daycare and is using those skills to great effect at home (photos to follow).
The grandparents have been a great help, allowing both Alison and Guy to sleep a little more than they would otherwise.

Louise is having a great time with the grandparents and they are helping us sleep more (always welcome!). Everyone is enjoying the good weather and playing outside a lot.
Charlotte and Claire continue to eat very well and are having an ultrasound next Tuesday to check their hips since they were breech babies.
