Louise is a toddler!

Louise had a final birthday party yesterday and we all enjoyed home-made cake. Louise has started acting 2 with some tantrums during the day and especially at night. Hopefully this will be a short phase since we all need the sleep!

Louise's birthday party at daycare

Louise had a shared birthday party with Katie today at daycare. She enjoyed eating the Elmo cake and making sure all the children ate theirs. Then she played outside and pushed Diana around in a wooden cart. Certainly a good way to work off all that sugar-induced energy!

Louise is 2 today!!

And boy does she know it - sigh. We're loving the explosion of language skills, physical skills, and curiosity; we're not loving the moodiness and tantrums so much.

We went to the doctor for her 2 year well-child visit today. She is officially a Big Girl (37.5 inches, or 97th percentile for height; 31 lbs, or 90th for weight). There were no shots today, but she found plenty to object to (stethoscopes, having her head measured...such indignity!!).

Louise in the driving seat

Louise has had a great week. She has mastered many colours and is working on identifying shapes. She is also becoming more of a leader (aka bossy). She "helps" her friends at daycare do the right thing (i.e. what Louise wants to do), and she also "helps" Mummy and Daddy at home!

5 February detailed ultrasound

The bad news: no pictures today! Both girls were facing down (away from the sonographer), so there was no option of cute face shots. I'm going back in 4 weeks, though, so hopefully we'll get to see them then.

The good news: there were no abnormalities, and they're growing at the same rate - twin A is only 4 grams heavier than twin B! There are minor differences - A has a bigger head, and B has longer arms. Overall, the scan put Alison's mind at rest (for the moment, of course).

Louise shows off her typing abilities

We have had a good week. Yesterday we went to a "Mother of Multiples" group meeting and we saw a magician. For his last trick he did pull a rabbit out of his hat. Both Louise and Daddy were very impressed and Louise enjoyed checking to make sure the rabbit was real.
Louise has started to work on counting, she can say "one, two" followed by "one" again. She is also doing well identifying colours - blue, orange and yellow are her favourites at the moment.
